The countdown to the reopening of Mallow Swimming Pool has entered its final stage, with the newly upgraded facility now having been handed over.
Cork County Council staff have returned to the facility and are undertaking approximately two weeks of specialist training on the new state-of-the-art equipment and systems.
Once the training programme is complete, the upgraded swimming pool will reopen to the public, welcoming back swimmers, families, schools and clubs.
The redevelopment represents a major investment in the facility and is being welcomed across Mallow and the wider North Cork community.

It has to be said, from the outside, the work looks very good, with the upgraded facility now starting to show the full benefit of the extensive works carried out.
The completion of the project will provide a significantly upgraded swimming facility for people of all ages, with the new equipment and systems forming a key part of the modernised pool.
With the pool now filled and staff training underway, the final stages of the project are firmly underway.
After months of works, preparation and anticipation, Mallow Swimming Pool is now getting closer to welcoming the community back through its doors.
The countdown to reopening is officially on.
