Awbeg Macra are preparing for a night of bucking, bulls and bravado as the group brings its Rodeo Bull Night to Buttevant next weekend.
The event takes place on Saturday, August 22 at O’Neill’s Pub, Buttevant, with the action getting underway at 7.30pm.
And there is a simple challenge for anyone brave enough to take it on, have you got what it takes to last the longest ride and be crowned champion?
The Rodeo Bull Night promises plenty of entertainment as competitors attempt to stay aboard the mechanical bull for as long as possible, with the competition set to test balance, determination and perhaps a healthy disregard for sensible decision-making.
The event comes during a particularly successful period for Awbeg Macra, following a major achievement at the Tullamore Show.
The Awbeg Farm Skills team of Patrick Cronin, Matthew Wharton and Adrian Curtin were crowned national winners after taking first place in the National Farm Skills Final.
The result represents a brilliant achievement for the local team and another success for Awbeg Macra, who will now turn their attention from farm skills to rodeo skills.
With the national champions already celebrating, the question now is whether anyone in Buttevant can match their staying power on the bull.
