There has been another generous show of support for Paudie Coady and his family, with Concept Hearing in Midleton donating a pair of Starkey Omega AI mRIC hearing aids valued at €5,500 ahead of Saturday night’s fundraising event.
Diarmuid O’Connor, owner of Concept Hearing, made the donation as the local community continues to rally around Paudie and his family.
Concept Hearing said it was delighted to support Paudie and the very worthy cause, adding that as an independent, locally owned audiology clinic in Midleton, it was proud to support people in the local community and contribute to something that can make a genuine difference to someone’s life.
The donation will form part of the fundraising efforts surrounding the 80s Night for Paudie Coady, with organiser Mark O’Sullivan, better known as Fanta, continuing to gather prizes for the auction and raffle on the night.
The event comes following welcome news for the Coady family, with the HSE approving reimbursement of Skyclarys after a substantially improved commercial offer from pharmaceutical company Biogen.
The decision means 16-year-old Paudie, who is living with Friedreich’s ataxia, will now have access to the treatment his family had been campaigning for.
The 80s Night for Paudie Coady will take place from 8pm on August 29 at the Talbot Hotel Midleton, with all proceeds going towards supporting Paudie and his family.
Hosted by MC Fanta, with DJ Alan O’Sullivan providing the soundtrack, the event promises an evening of classic 80s music, nostalgia and entertainment while raising much-needed funds for the Coady family.
