What a facility has been developed in Bweeng, with the community now seeing the results of years of planning, fundraising and hard work.
The all-weather tartan running surface at the Bweeng Community Sports Facility has now been completed, marking another major milestone in the development of what promises to be a top-class athletics facility.
The remaining work involves the lining contractor installing the white track markings, including lanes, relay changeovers and distance markings.
The Bweeng Community Sports Facility Fundraising group thanked its supporters and friends for their continued backing, saying the project is now almost complete.
The facility is already being put to use by the Bweeng Trail Blazers Juvenile Athletics Club, who train on site most Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 7pm.
The development represents more than just a new sports facility. It provides a first-class home for local athletics and creates the foundations for the next generation of young athletes to develop their skills and potentially become champions of the future.
