EPS Group 40 Peaks Challenge 2026 Completes 40 Mountains Across Ireland and UK

Mallow-based EPS Group has been at the forefront of a remarkable fundraising effort, as its 40 Peaks Challenge 2026 successfully reached completion with all 40 mountains conquered across Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England over an action-packed weekend.

The ambitious challenge brought together teams of employees, family members, friends, customers, suppliers and industry partners, all taking on mountains in support of the Irish Hospice Foundation, Marie Curie UK and WaterAid.

Planning culminated in three days of climbing, camaraderie and determination, as participants tackled some of the highest and most demanding peaks across the four nations.

The event got underway on Friday evening with the first ascent of Cruach Mhór in County Kerry, before teams spread out across multiple locations to begin the main challenge on Saturday morning.

Based from Cronin’s Yard in Kerry, the largest group of climbers faced a punishing schedule that included several MacGillycuddy’s Reeks peaks and a return visit to Carrauntoohil. Despite challenging conditions including rain, mist and low cloud, progress continued steadily throughout the weekend as teams worked together to stay on course.

By Sunday evening, all 40 scheduled peaks had been successfully completed, marking the conclusion of a major logistical and physical undertaking.

The challenge was supported by dozens of volunteers who played a key role behind the scenes, assisting with logistics, transport, catering, safety planning, fundraising coordination and communications throughout the weekend. Organisers said the success of the event reflected a huge collective effort both on and off the mountains.

Special recognition was also given to the Peak Leads and mountain support teams who guided participants safely across the routes, ensuring climbers of varying experience levels could take part while maintaining high safety standards throughout.

The initiative extended beyond those on the mountains, with supporters joining virtually through a dedicated challenge platform, contributing steps and fundraising efforts from homes and workplaces across the EPS Group network.

Throughout the weekend, participants encountered a full range of weather conditions, from heavy rain and dense fog to bright sunshine and clear summit views. While conditions were often demanding, morale remained high as teams pushed on together to complete the ambitious target.

The event also received support from Irish explorer Pat Falvey, who met participants ahead of one of the climbs and offered encouragement as the challenge got underway.

EPS Group thanked the many companies and organisations that supported the initiative through sponsorship, donations and practical assistance, as well as the hundreds of individuals who contributed to the fundraising effort.

Most importantly, organisers paid tribute to the volunteers and participants who gave their time and energy to make the challenge possible.

With all 40 peaks completed safely and fundraising continuing, the 2026 edition is already being described as one of the most successful community and charity initiatives undertaken by the company.

Donations in aid of the Irish Hospice Foundation, Marie Curie UK and WaterAid remain open through the event website.
