A heritage project focused on one of Mallow’s historic sites is set to benefit from new funding announced by Cork County Council under the County Cork Heritage Grant Scheme 2026.
Funding has been allocated for conservation reports and condition surveys at St Anne’s Church and Graveyard as part of a wider countywide investment in heritage initiatives aimed at protecting built, cultural and archaeological heritage.
In total, €75,450 has been awarded to 50 heritage projects across all eight Municipal Districts in County Cork. The scheme, supported by The Heritage Council since 2021, provides financial assistance for a range of heritage-related projects across the county.
The inclusion of St Anne’s Church and Graveyard highlights ongoing efforts to preserve Mallow’s historic landmarks and ensure their long-term protection for future generations.
Across the county, other funded initiatives include heritage reenactments marking the 425th anniversary of the Battle of Kinsale, oral history projects linked to Camden Fort Meagher, and community-based efforts documenting traditional Fair Day memories.
Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Mary Linehan Foley, said the grants reflect strong community engagement in preserving local heritage and cultural identity across the region.
Many of the supported projects are expected to feature as part of National Heritage Week 2026, which runs from 15 to 23 August.
