Loudest Whisper and Sean Keane among headline acts for Mallow Arts Festival 2026

Mallow Arts Festival 2026 is set to return this July with a packed programme of music, theatre and storytelling at St James’ Church of Ireland in Mallow, featuring a mix of established Irish artists and unique live collaborations.

One of the headline performances will see Loudest Whisper take to the stage on Thursday, July 23rd (8pm–10pm), performing material from their landmark 1974 debut album The Children of Lir. Fronted by Brian O’Reilly, the group will revisit songs from one of the most collectible Irish albums of its era, blending acoustic folk roots with electric folk-rock energy.

The festival continues across the weekend with a series of performances exploring music, memory and storytelling within the historic church setting.

On Sunday, July 26th, audiences can look forward to a special collaboration between acclaimed playwright Deirdre Kinahan and renowned fiddler Steve Wickham, in a production that blends theatre, live music and narrative to explore themes of memory, folklore and human connection.

Separately, celebrated traditional singer Sean Keane is also set to headline the festival, bringing his distinctive voice and acclaimed musicianship to what promises to be one of the standout performances of the weekend.

Additional performances will take place throughout Friday, July 24th and Saturday, July 25th, including experimental and folk-based acts returning to the stage after extended breaks, alongside new material and storytelling-driven sets.

Many more acts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, as the Mallow Arts Festival once again promises to deliver a diverse and high-quality programme this July.
