Parents and guardians are being advised to remain vigilant at Castle Playground in Mallow after a two-year-old child discovered the neck of a broken bottle in the sandpit, as reported on the Mallow Acts of Kindness page.
The child was unharmed, and the incident was reported to Cork County Council.
Cllr. Tony O’Shea confirmed to the Act of Kindness page administrators that the matter has been addressed.
“The MDO officer rang me this morning and told me that it was dealt with,” he said.
Despite this, parents are encouraged to supervise young children closely, particularly in the sandpit area. Cllr. O’Shea also noted that the playground gates now close earlier in the evenings as daylight hours shorten.
