A remarkable video documenting the history and current condition of Mallow Town Hall has been released ahead of the building’s long-awaited redevelopment into a theatre and multi-use arts venue.
The film captures the building as it stands today while preserving the memories of those who knew it best. Through voiceovers from former staff members and Mallow residents, viewers are given a unique insight into the important role the Town Hall has played in the civic, social and cultural life of the town over many decades.
The project serves as an important historical record before construction work begins, ensuring that the stories, memories and significance of one of Mallow’s best-known public buildings are preserved for future generations.
Redevelopment works are scheduled to commence in 2026, transforming the historic building into a modern theatre and multi-use arts venue that will provide a significant boost to arts and cultural life across Mallow and North Cork.
The redevelopment is co-funded by the Government of Ireland, the European Union through the ERDF Southern, Eastern and Midland Regional Programme 2021–2027, and Cork County Council.
