Coláiste Treasa student Naglis Vaivada is set to take the next step in his basketball career after committing to Combine Academy in North Carolina.
The move will see the young basketball player take his talents to the United States, where he will combine his education with an elite basketball programme designed to prepare student-athletes for the next level.
Combine Academy, based in North Carolina, provides a college-preparatory programme for students in Grades 9–12 alongside a competitive basketball programme.

The academy places a strong emphasis on both academic development and athletic progression, with student-athletes receiving structured support as they work towards potential college opportunities.
A key part of the programme is its focus on exposure and recruitment. Combine Academy’s schedule includes more than 45 games across the eastern United States, as well as national tournaments featuring some of the country’s top young basketball players.
For Naglis, the move represents an exciting opportunity to continue developing his game while experiencing basketball at a much higher level.

The academy also works with players from the beginning of their time there to develop an individual recruitment strategy, helping student-athletes build profiles and connect with college programmes.
The move is another significant step for a young player who has been developing his basketball skills at Coláiste Treasa.
Everyone at Coláiste Treasa will be wishing Naglis the very best as he begins this new chapter of his basketball journey in North Carolina.
It promises to be an exciting opportunity, both on and off the court, as he looks to develop his game, continue his education and work towards his ambitions in the sport.
