Mallow Swimming Pool is expected to reopen to the public in the week beginning September 14, with the final preparations now underway at the upgraded facility.
The update was shared by Cllr. Gearóid Murphy, who recently visited the Mallow Swimming Complex to see the progress of the redevelopment.
The upgraded facility has now been handed over, with Cork County Council staff returning to the pool to begin specialist training on the new equipment and systems.
The reopening will see swimmers, families, schools and local clubs return to a facility that has undergone extensive works and modernisation.
Cllr. Murphy said the complex is looking well as the project approaches completion, with the pool now filled and the final stages of preparation underway.
Cork County Council is expected to release further details on opening times and arrangements for the public in advance of the reopening.
The return of the swimming pool will be significant for Mallow and the wider North Cork area, with the facility serving local swimmers, families, schools and sporting clubs.
