Sliabh Luachra Cycling Club is celebrating a hugely successful 2026 All-Ireland Road National Championships, with 15 young riders competing at the event hosted by Square Wheels Cycling Club in Moy/Charlemont, Co. Armagh/Tyrone.
The club returned home with an impressive collection of national titles and medals, underlining the strength and depth of its youth programme. Among the standout performances, the U11 riders made their Road Nationals debuts, with one rider claiming three gold medals to become the 2026 U11 All-Ireland National Champion, while her teammate enjoyed a strong first experience at national level. In U12, both riders won three silver medals each, while the U13 contingent added a silver and two bronze medals. The U14 rider delivered a strong performance throughout the weekend, while the U15 riders continued the medal haul, with one taking two silver medals and a bronze and another winning gold in Stage 3 to claim an All-Ireland National Championship title, alongside two bronze medals.
The remaining U15 riders also produced determined performances, while the U16 contingent dug deep throughout what was their final youth Nationals. Despite tired legs, they continued to push through each stage and finished their youth careers at national level with pride.
The club praised all 15 riders for their enthusiasm, determination and commitment, while also thanking the coaches for their time, patience and work in developing the young cyclists and helping them reach national level.
A special thanks was also extended to the parents who travelled across the country to support the riders and give them the opportunity to compete on the national stage.
