A striking drone video filmed during Mallow Charity runner Diana Dias’s training run captures a sweeping bird’s-eye view of the River Blackwater, showcasing Mallow’s Ten Arch Bridge and the surrounding landscape from above.
The footage by Mallow legend Tim Horgan follows Dias as she runs through the area, combining movement, scenery, and aerial perspective to highlight one of the town’s most recognisable landmarks.
Dias is currently preparing for a busy year of endurance events in support of mental health and crisis services. At the end of this month, she will take part in her first official race at the Cork City Marathon, where she will run in aid of Mental Health Ireland. She is also set to take on the Dublin Marathon in October, raising funds for the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre.
She says mental health awareness is a deeply personal cause, with her motivation driven by resilience, consistency, and personal growth through training.
“My younger self would be proud, not because I am perfect but because I didn’t give up, and that’s all I’m chasing,” she said.
Dias added that the journey has pushed her both physically and mentally as she builds towards longer distances.
“Just trying to be a better human each day, proving to myself that I can do hard things. I’m in half-marathon territory now… legs tired, but prouder than ever,” she said.
Fundraising pages have been set up ahead of both marathons, with Dias aiming to raise awareness and support for Mental Health Ireland and the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre through her upcoming races.
