A World Cup silver medal. A hero’s welcome home. And another remarkable chapter in the story of one of Mallow’s most successful performing arts schools.
Centre Stage School has returned to Mallow celebrating one of the greatest achievements in its history after claiming a silver medal at the 2026 Dance World Cup in Dublin.
More than 11,500 performers from over 60 countries competed at Dublin’s Convention Centre in what is regarded as the pinnacle of international youth dance. Amid the world’s finest young dancers, the Mallow school once again proved it belongs on the global stage.
The achievement has been widely celebrated across the local community, with local councillor Liam Madden among the first to congratulate the school.

Founded by Aideen McAuliffe in 2003, Centre Stage School has grown into one of Ireland’s leading performing arts schools. Following postgraduate studies in Drama and Theatre Studies at NUI Galway and musical theatre training in Washington, USA, Aideen established the school with a vision of providing young people with exceptional training in dance, drama and musical theatre.
Today, Centre Stage welcomes students from as young as 20 months old, combining recreational classes with elite-level coaching that has produced outstanding examination results, championship success and professional performers.
The school’s philosophy extends beyond medals and trophies. Every student is encouraged to develop confidence, creativity and individuality, whether performing simply for enjoyment or pursuing a career in the arts. That approach has seen former students progress to third-level performing arts courses, while many now work professionally throughout the industry. Several have even returned to Centre Stage as teachers, inspiring the next generation of performers.
The silver medal at the Dance World Cup is the latest milestone in the school’s remarkable journey and another proud moment for Mallow.
