Curadh Muay Thai athletes set for international stage after national Muay Thai success

Two young athletes from Curadh Muay Thai Fitness are set to represent Ireland on the international stage after standout performances at the ISKA Ireland national championships.

David and Salman both impressed at the competition, securing results that have now earned them selection to the Irish national squad ahead of an upcoming international event in Madrid.

David Pop was crowned ISKA National Champion in his weight division following a strong performance that saw him come through a demanding preparation period and deliver a dominant display on competition day. Salman also had a successful championship, securing a bronze medal after reaching the semi-finals in his category.

Both athletes train at Curadh Muay Thai Fitness, where coaches say their progression to international selection is a major achievement for the club and a proud moment for the wider community.

Their selection means both fighters will now travel to Spain to compete at the ISKA Open in Madrid, a four-day international competition where they will represent Ireland against athletes from across Europe.

The club has highlighted the dedication and commitment shown by both fighters in reaching this level, noting the significance of two local athletes progressing from national competition to international representation in the same season.

Support is now being sought to help cover travel, accommodation, competition entry fees and equipment costs for the trip. The club is encouraging any local businesses or supporters who may be in a position to assist to get in touch regarding sponsorship or fundraising support.
