Mallow Courthouse to Close for Major Refurbishment as Court Services Temporarily Relocate

Mallow Courthouse is set to close temporarily for a major programme of refurbishment, repair and modernisation, with works expected to last approximately 12 months from 5 May 2026.

During the closure, all District Court sittings and office services will be relocated to Fermoy Courthouse, with the first sitting of Mallow District Court taking place there on 5 May 2026.

Circuit Court matters for both Mallow and Fermoy will instead be heard in Cork City for the duration of the works.

Court officials confirmed that while Mallow Courthouse will be unavailable throughout the refurbishment period, all services will return to the building once the project is complete.

The District Court office, staff and presiding Judge will continue operations from the Fermoy venue, with contact details remaining unchanged. The public can still reach the office via email at mallowdc@courts.ie.

Authorities have stated the works are aimed at delivering a modernised courthouse facility for both the local community and future court users, while apologising for any inconvenience caused during the transition period
