A local wellbeing hub in Doneraile is extending a quiet but meaningful helping hand to the community through its “Kindness Shelf and Hygiene Bank,” offering essential items free of charge to anyone who may need them.
The initiative, run by The Green Witches Doneraile Well Being Hub on Main Street, provides access to a range of everyday essentials including nappies, sanitary products, electric toothbrush heads, toiletries, skincare items and other comfort goods.
The project is built on a simple ethos, offering support without barriers or stigma. Visitors are invited to take what they need, when they need it, with no questions asked.
In a message to the community, the organisers said their shelves are currently well stocked and encouraged people to make use of the service:
“Our shelves are nearly full with nappies, sanitary items, electric toothbrush heads, toiletries and skincare. Come on in and take what you need. We are only open between appointments at the moment, so maybe pop us a message and we can arrange for you to collect.”
The initiative also includes baby essentials and period care products, aiming to ease some of the everyday pressures faced by individuals and families.
Located at Main Street, Doneraile (P51 YC1P), the hub operates across the week, though access is currently managed between appointments. Those wishing to visit are encouraged to make contact in advance to arrange a suitable time.
Opening hours are as follows: Saturday 11am–6pm, Sunday 12pm–5pm, Monday 10am–8:30pm (hours may vary on the Bank Holiday), Tuesday 10am–7:30pm, Wednesday 10:30am–8:30pm, Thursday 10am–7:30pm, and Friday 10am–8:30pm.
