Cork County Roads Policing and Mallow District Community Engagement Gardaí carried out high-visibility checkpoints and patrols across the Mallow Garda District, last weekend.
During a 24-hour period from Saturday evening to Sunday evening, five individuals were arrested for intoxicated driving. Gardaí have highlighted this as a concerning figure, noting that the same period is when most fatal collisions occur on Irish roads.

Authorities emphasise the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Even small amounts can significantly impair reaction times and coordination, putting the driver and others at serious risk.
The Gardaí and road safety authorities urge everyone to stay safe and never drive while impaired.
