Bank Holiday Rail Disruption Confirmed for Mallow Commuters

Rail passengers travelling to and from Mallow are being advised to plan ahead, as Iarnród Éireann has confirmed significant service disruptions over the February Bank Holiday weekend due to major engineering works across the Cork rail network.
From Saturday 31 January to Monday 2 February, all Cork–Mallow Commuter services will be replaced by bus transfers for the duration of the weekend. The disruption forms part of the ongoing Cork Area Commuter Rail programme, which includes essential bridge renewal and resignalling works.
Passengers using Mallow services to connect with wider Cork commuter routes will also be impacted, with bus transfers operating on Cork–Cobh and Cork–Midleton lines throughout the same period.
In addition, mainline rail services serving Mallow will be affected. On Saturday, services between Thurles and Cork, as well as Cork and Tralee, will operate with bus transfers. On Sunday and Monday, bus substitutions will apply on routes between Charleville and Cork, and between Charleville and Tralee.
Iarnród Éireann has advised passengers to allow extra travel time and to check timetables in advance, as journey times may be extended during the works.
