Mallow GAA Complex continues to cement its reputation as one of Munster hurling’s most reliable venues as it prepares to host another high-profile inter-county fixture, the Co-Op Superstores Munster Hurling League Final, this Saturday, January 17th, with a 3.15pm throw-in.
Fresh from successfully staging Monday night’s dramatic Cork v Clare encounter, the north Cork venue will once again take centre stage as Waterford face Limerick in the early-season provincial decider. The match will be broadcast live on TG4, bringing a national television audience to Mallow.
Waterford arrive in confident form following a dominant 6-25 to 0-06 victory over Kerry at Fraher Field on January 7th.
Limerick, meanwhile, booked their place in the final by finishing top of Group B, edging out both Clare and Cork on points difference. Although all three sides ended the group stage with one win and one defeat, Limerick’s emphatic 1-28 to 0-16 victory over Cork at the TÚS Gaelic Grounds proved decisive.
John Kiely’s side had opened their campaign with a narrow 3-20 to 3-18 defeat to Clare in Tulla, but their scoring power across the group stages ultimately ensured a return to the final.
Attendance at Saturday’s decider will be strictly limited to 2,000 supporters, with ticket-only admission for all patrons, including under-16s.
Tickets go on sale from 12 noon on Wednesday and can be purchased via the Munster GAA website at:
