Trainer Terence O’Brien was full of praise for Glanworth jockey John Shinnick after Answer To Kayf delivered a memorable victory in the €100,000 Troytown Handicap Chase at Navan, recently.
Answer To Kayf, trained by O’Brien at his Woodstock Stables, powered home to land the prestigious handicap at odds of 11/1, with Shinnick producing a composed and confident ride in a fiercely competitive 17-runner field.
O’Brien reserved special praise for the rider, describing him as a key figure in his operation, when speaking to Navan Racecourse Social Media..
“John has been an integral part of our set-up for the last three years,” O’Brien said. “He’s gone from strength to strength during that time. I hope he makes it right to the top, he’s a real nice fella.”
Shinnick wore the trademark Carrigtwohill colours, making his race-winning move on the inside up the home straight.
