Gardaí in Mallow have begun investigating the circumstances following the discovery of a body in Doneraile.
The body, found in the Rockview Terrace area of the town, is believed to be that of a Male in their 40s.
The discovery was made in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation, while an incident room has been opened at Mallow Garda station.
A family liaison officer has also been assigned to the family to provide support.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them and are seeking any available camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from those who were in the vicinity of Doneraile village from midnight to 2am today.
