A Local Facebook group, Acts of Kindness Mallow, has helped save a holiday for one family.
Posting yesterday, an anonymous user shared their despair and plea for help, as they were trying to obtain a passport before leaving on a plane today, Saturday.
Many followers posted messages of good luck and advice for the user, with many suggesting that they contact the An Post sorting office in Portlaoise.
Behind the scenes, two members had contacted the page admins offering help.
In the end, the original anonymous user posted this morning to let everyone know they had managed to get the passport and were on their way to their holiday.
Well done to everyone involved and a great ending!
The Acts of Kindness Mallow page has, in the past, won an award at the National Diversity & Inclusion awards for their community work
