Speak Easy Toastmasters Club Hosts Inspiring October Meeting in Mallow

Speak Easy Toastmasters Club in Mallow held an engaging and inspiring meeting on 2nd October at the Hibernian Hotel, where members and guests gathered for an evening of poetry, speeches, and impromptu speaking.

The meeting opened with a reading of Seamus Heaney’s “Digging” in the club’s Poet’s Corner, setting a reflective tone before three speakers took to the stage. Their talks ranged from themes of leadership and creativity to storytelling and humour, each offering a unique perspective and plenty of food for thought.

The popular Table Topics session followed, challenging participants to think quickly and share their ideas on the spot , often with entertaining results. The event concluded with evaluations and feedback, a hallmark of Toastmasters’ learn-by-doing approach to improving public speaking and communication skills.

The meetings give people the chance to grow their confidence, practise leadership, and connect through shared stories.

The next meeting of Speak Easy Toastmasters will take place on Thursday, 16th October at 8pm in the Hibernian Hotel, Mallow. Guests are welcome to attend.
