New Irish Co-Parenting App Launched with Support for North Cork and Mallow Families

Families in Mallow and across North Cork are set to benefit from the launch of a new Irish-developed co-parenting app that is now available nationwide.

Beacon, a modern digital platform designed to support structured and secure co-parenting, has officially launched following more than two years of collaborative development. While available to families throughout Ireland, its creators say the app is relevant to communities like Mallow, Kanturk and Charleville, where parents are seeking practical, organised tools to manage shared responsibilities.

The idea for Beacon was jointly conceived by PJ Brennan and Jordan Kidney, who worked alongside the team at RYT Media to bring the concept from vision to reality. A dedicated five-person team combined entrepreneurial drive, technical development and business expertise to build a platform tailored specifically for Irish families.

Beacon acts as a digital mediator, helping parents manage communication, shared schedules and expenses in one secure, structured environment. The platform is centred on what its creators describe as “communication with boundaries”, promoting clarity, respect and organisation in day-to-day co-parenting.

Secure messaging is a key feature, with communications that cannot be edited or deleted, ensuring transparency and consistency. The app also incorporates professional human moderation, providing reassurance and an additional layer of support where appropriate.

Parents can record updates and milestones through a handover feature, upload receipts to track shared expenses, and coordinate school events, access arrangements and appointments through a live shared calendar. The platform also allows solicitors to access relevant documentation when required, aligning with Ireland’s family law framework.

Speaking about the vision behind the app, PJ Brennan said the focus has always been on keeping families supported and children at the centre.

“This app keeps the child central, messaging secure and users safe in all communication between former partners but forever parents,” he said.

He added that collaboration was central to bringing the idea to life.

“Beacon was built through strong collaboration and shared purpose. From the initial idea to launch, it has been about combining experience, technical skill and a genuine desire to create something positive and useful for families.”

Jordan Kidney of RYT Media said the project reflects how Irish innovation can deliver practical, meaningful solutions.

“At RYT Media, we work closely with founders to shape and develop ideas into fully realised platforms,” he said. “Beacon is a strong example of what can be achieved through teamwork and shared vision.”
