A Mallow-based mother-and-daughter cleaning business is set to appear on national television as part of a new Virgin Media documentary series highlighting Ireland’s frontline “hygiene heroes”.
Sage Cleaning, founded in 2020 by Shan and Paige Hill, will feature in the opening episodes of Cleaning Up Ireland, an eight-part series airing on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Play.
Established during the challenging early months of the pandemic, Sage Cleaning has grown into a respected all-female cleaning company serving homes and businesses across North Cork and beyond. Based in Mallow, the family-run operation specialises in residential, commercial and deep-clean services, as well as eco-friendly and specialist biohazard cleaning. The company has built a strong reputation for professionalism, discretion and compassionate support, particularly when working with vulnerable clients.
The new series goes behind the scenes of the essential workers who keep Ireland’s homes, streets and venues clean and safe. Viewers will follow Shan and Paige as they take on demanding home transformations, tackling properties overwhelmed by pets, clutter and years of build-up. Their work often involves more than cleaning alone, restoring dignity, comfort and liveable space for families in need.
Cleaning Up Ireland also follows a range of sanitation teams across the country, from large-scale event clean-up crews to pest control specialists and local authority street cleaners dealing with illegal dumping and busy night-time city centres.
Sage Cleaning will appear in the first and second episodes of the series, bringing national attention to a business that began as a local initiative in Mallow just six years ago.
Cleaning Up Ireland premieres on Sunday, February 22 at 8:30pm on Virgin Media One, with streaming available on Virgin Media Play.
