Mallow RFC has strengthened their J1 squad ahead of the 2025/26 season with the arrivals of Riley Harrison from New Zealand and Santino “Santi” Bravo from Spain/Argentina, adding further depth to a squad already boosted by the earlier signing of Argentine back-row star Tomás Maldonado.
Riley Harrison, a versatile First Five and Fullback from Auckland, brings a wealth of experience, having played rugby since the age of five. Most recently, he helped Pakuranga RFC secure the national under-85kg title. Speaking about his move to Ireland, Riley said he wanted to experience rugby on this side of the world and felt Mallow was the perfect fit. “To make the most of my time here and learn as much as possible,” he said, outlining his goals for the season.
Santino Bravo, a dynamic Scrum-half with roots in Spain and Argentina, has been passionate about Irish rugby since the age of 13. Having played for El Toro RFC in Spain, Biguá RFC in Argentina, and Galway Corinthians RFC in Ireland, Santi joins Mallow with the ambition of helping the team secure promotion to the All-Ireland League. He cites Antoine Dupont as a rugby hero and recalls one of his favourite rugby memories playing against his best friends in a league match.
The addition of Riley and Santi complements the earlier signing of Tomás Maldonado, who joined from San Juan Rugby Club and has been targeting a strong impact in the back row.
