Mallow RFC has announced an exciting addition to their J1 squad for the 2025/26 season, welcoming Tomás Maldonado from San Juan, Argentina.
The back row star, capable of playing 6 or 7, arrives from San Juan Rugby Club with ambitions to make a real impact in Ireland.
Speaking about his move, Tomás said he came to Ireland to “experience rugby on this side of the world and embrace something new”, and he’s thrilled to have chosen Mallow RFC as his new home.
The Argentine ace has set clear goals for the season: “Take it step by step… and become champions by the end of the season.”
He brings a winning mentality, recalling his favourite rugby memory of making his first-team debut back home.
Already a fan of Munster, Tomás is ready to integrate quickly into the squad, adding depth and dynamism to Mallow’s pack. Off the pitch, he enjoys both playing and watching football.
To his new teammates and supporters, he added: “I hope we can form a great group and take Mallow RFC as high as possible.”
Mallow RFC supporters are invited to welcome Tomás and follow his journey as the club pushes for results this season.
