A unique theatrical experience is set to unfold this spring as The Verdant Troupe: Theatre & Tours in an Exotic Botanical Setting comes to Annes Grove Gardens on Sunday, April 12 from 2pm to 4pm.
Hosted in the historic surroundings of Annesgrove, Cork, the immersive production promises far more than a traditional guided tour. Instead, audiences will step into a living story as The Verdant Troupe weaves together the tales of the people connected to the estate across generations.
Set against one of North Cork’s most spectacular horticultural backdrops, the event blends heritage, drama and storytelling. Visitors will hear household secrets, social triumphs and the everyday experiences of families and friends who once shaped life at Annes Grove.
An official guide from the Office of Public Works (OPW) will also provide insight into the botanical richness of the estate, highlighting the rare and exotic plant collections that make the gardens a standout heritage destination in Cork.
The performance comes as Annes Grove Gardens prepares to reopen for the 2026 season on Friday, March 20, operating Thursday to Monday each week. April offers a particularly special atmosphere, as the gardens awaken with the first true blooms of spring.
Beginning at Annesgrove House, the theatre tour offers a rare opportunity to experience the estate in a dynamic and engaging way, where nature, history and performance intertwine.
Tickets are available via Eventbrite, and early booking is advised for what promises to be a memorable spring afternoon in Castletownroche.
