Mallow Chamber Advocates for Town’s Needs at Pre-Budget Meeting

Mallow Chamber of Commerce was represented at the Chambers Ireland Pre-Budget meeting in Dublin, where local business leaders pressed for the specific needs of the town to be reflected in the upcoming national budget.

President Estelle Varney and Vice President Joyce Good Hammond attended the event, held in the Dun Library at the Royal College of Physicians, which brought together Chambers of Commerce from across the country to discuss shared challenges and priorities.

The Mallow delegation highlighted the importance of easing business costs, revitalising the town centre, linking housing to infrastructure, and protecting the River Blackwater. These priorities, Varney said, are in line with both Chambers Ireland’s national agenda and the regional objectives advanced by Cork Chamber, while remaining focused on the unique requirements of Mallow.

“Mallow Chamber used the pre-budget platform to press for our town’s needs,” said Estelle Varney. “The insights we gained will shape our upcoming Budget 2026 submission, with a clear focus on supporting local businesses and strengthening Mallow’s long-term future.”

The Chamber also took part in a Budget Breakfast with Minister Jack Chambers, which informed their contribution to the discussion. They further thanked Senator Garret Kelleher for his engagement in the consultation process.

The event offered an opportunity for Mallow Chamber to build connections with chambers from across the country, exchanging experiences and knowledge to strengthen their collective voice.
