Killavullen-born cognac brand Hennessy, through Maison Hennessy, has teamed up with global basketball icon LeBron James to launch the Hennessy V.S.O.P Limited Edition by LeBron James.
The collaboration marks a bold new partnership between the historic cognac house and the NBA superstar.
The limited edition, titled “The Second Decision”, follows LeBron’s famous 2010 interview, “The Decision”, and reflects his ongoing journey of achievement and reinvention. Maison Hennessy describes the release as a celebration of moments shared with friends and family, redefining the modern cognac experience.
The story of Hennessy itself begins in Killavullen. Richard Hennessy, born in the village in 1724, left his ancestral home, Ballymacmoy House, at the age of 20 to serve in the French Army under King Louis XV.
After completing his military service, Hennessy settled in the Cognac region of France, founding his distillery in 1765.
In 1971, Hennessy merged with Moët et Chandon, forming the iconic Moët-Hennessy group, now part of the luxury powerhouse LVMH. The new LeBron James collaboration continues the legacy of innovation and global reach established by the historic cognac house.
