Labour TD Eoghan Kenny has called on the HSE to take immediate action to reopen the Warfarin Clinic at Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre, which has been closed due to what the HSE described as “unforeseen circumstances.”
Deputy Kenny raised the matter through a Parliamentary Question, saying the closure is “simply not acceptable” given the essential role the clinic plays in providing regular INR checks and monitoring for patients on Warfarin.
“The Warfarin Clinic provides vital, life-sustaining care for people in Mallow and the surrounding areas,” Deputy Kenny said. “If it cannot be provided privately at present, then the HSE must step in without delay to ensure the service is restored at Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre.”
He said patients should not be left “in limbo” and urged the HSE to prioritise the reopening of the service.
“The people of Mallow deserve reliable access to essential healthcare. The HSE must act now to reopen this clinic and provide reassurance to those who depend on it,” he added.
