Accountancy and advisory firm IFAC has strengthened its presence in North Cork with the acquisition of Michael G Murphy Accountants in Charleville.
The move forms part of a wider expansion announced today, which also includes the purchase of Con Dolan Accountants in Cavan and Peter Moore & Company in Mullingar, Co Westmeath. However, the Charleville deal marks a significant development locally, further enhancing IFAC’s footprint in Cork, where the firm already operates an office in Mallow.
IFAC said the acquisitions will reinforce its position as a specialist professional services provider to the farming, food, agribusiness and SME sectors, industries that are central to the North Cork economy.
Michael G Murphy Accountants has built a strong regional reputation, with deep-rooted client relationships and extensive experience advising farming families, food producers and small to medium-sized enterprises. The integration into IFAC is expected to combine that local expertise with the wider resources and specialist knowledge of a national top ten firm.
John Donoghue, Chief Executive of IFAC, described the acquisitions as an important milestone in the firm’s continued national growth.
“Each firm has built a strong reputation for trusted, high-quality advice and deep local relationships. That alignment of values is critical for us,” he said.
“As one of Ireland’s top ten accountancy and advisory firms, our strategy is clear: to combine a strong local presence with national scale and specialist expertise. We are continuing to grow, to invest and to strengthen our capability so that our clients have access to the very best advice, wherever they are located.”
With offices now serving clients in both Mallow and Charleville, IFAC’s expanded presence is likely to further consolidate its position across North Cork and the wider Munster region.
