Drift Masters World Champion Conor Shanahan will race in the O’Connell Group Cork “20” International Rally, set to take place this weekend
The Munster Car Club announced that the two-time Drift Masters titleholder will be competing in Class 13, sharing the spotlight with his father, John Shanahan, who will be driving a Toyota Corolla Twin Cam in the same class.
Fans attending the rally weekend will also have the chance to see the Red Bull Truck alongside Conor and Jack Shanahan’s drift cars in the service area.
Jack Shanahan secured third place in this year’s Drift Masters Championship.
Meanwhile, Mallow Autograss has announced the unfortunate cancellation of the Donal O’Brien Memorial weekend due to adverse weather. The club expressed their disappointment, stating: “We were all really looking forward to this event, but the weather isn’t on our side. Wishing everyone a great weekend and the best of luck to those competing in the Cork 20 Rally.”
In other news, the rally organisers have issued an urgent call for marshals for this weekend’s event.
Volunteers will get an up-close view of the stages and the chance to see Conor Shanahan in action.
Anyone interested is encouraged to step forward and support the club.
