Banter and “Lovely Girls” Take Centre Stage at Banteer LGFA and Camogie Fundraiser

There’ll be no talk of “lovely bottoms” at the “Lovely Girls” Banteer Camogie and Ladies Football Fr. Ted fundraiser, happening at Banteer Community Centre on November 1st.

Organisers have issued a gentle warning to raffle-goers, don’t be turning your ticket upside down and hoping the numbers will magically change.

And yes, it’s perfectly normal for the organisers themselves to occasionally walk away with a prize.

There will be tea, sandwiches and Ferrero Rocher for everyone, Banteer will really be spoiling everyone.

The evening kicks off with a parade through the village at 7pm, where locals will marvel at just how many hats one person can wear and still call it a parade.

Doors open at 8pm, and the DJ will be spinning classic ’80s tunes, he’s promised to bring more than one CD this time.

Interviews with the “Lovely Girls” will begin at 9pm, giving attendees a chance to see who can keep a straight face while being asked the most serious of questions in the most ridiculous ways.

The raffle results will be announced at 11pm, with the tension rivalled only by a county final.

And if you happen to still be in the hall at midnight, don’t be surprised if the doors are locked.

Tickets are €20, and every euro goes to supporting the incredible efforts of Banteer Camogie and Ladies Football.
