Balancing work and college alongside the demands of international competition requires considerable commitment. O’Keeffe regularly travels to Dublin for training, putting in the hours while managing her other responsibilities.

Kanturk Boxing Club has praised her determination and the sacrifices she makes to continue progressing in the sport, describing her selection as a source of pride for the club.

The club said it was delighted to see one of its own continue to represent both Kanturk and Ireland on the European stage.
