Motorists in Mallow are being advised of a temporary 24-hour road closure on Beecher Street to allow for essential resurfacing works.
Cork County Council has confirmed that Beecher Street (R-930-0), Mallow, will close from 8am on Monday, July 27th, 2026, until 11pm on Friday, August 28th, 2026 to facilitate the road improvement works.
While the official closure period covers just over a month, Cork County Council has confirmed that the resurfacing works themselves are expected to take approximately 10 days to complete and will be carried out during the above timeframe.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure, with residents, businesses and road users still able to access properties and premises in the area.
Motorists travelling through Mallow are advised to plan ahead, allow additional time for journeys and follow the signed diversion routes that will be in place.
The official diversion route will direct eastbound traffic towards the N20 and Annabella Roundabout before continuing via the N72 through West End, Park Road and Bridge Street, before reconnecting towards Beecher Street through the local road network.
The diversion route will apply in reverse for traffic travelling in the opposite direction.
The works are being carried out under Cork County Council’s road improvement programme and are aimed at improving the condition of the R-930 route in Mallow.
Cork County Council has thanked motorists and the local community for their patience and cooperation while the resurfacing works are completed.
