Mallow Town Hall Theatre Project Moves to Next Stage in Tender Process

The long-awaited transformation of Mallow Town Hall into a state-of-the-art theatre and arts centre has taken another major step forward. Cork County Council has confirmed that the project has now reached the second stage of the construction tender process, with shortlisted contractors invited to submit their bids by 24 October 2025.

Once submissions are assessed, the successful tenderer will be appointed, paving the way for construction to begin in February 2026. The build is expected to take between 15 and 18 months to complete.

The redevelopment will see the historic Town Hall repurposed as a modern theatre and multi-use arts centre, creating a cultural hub at the heart of Mallow. The project is jointly funded by the Government of Ireland, the European Union through the ERDF Southern, Eastern and Midland Regional Programme 2021–2027, and Cork County Council.

When complete, the new venue is set to invigorate Mallow’s town centre, providing a dedicated space for the arts, supporting local performers, attracting visitors, and boosting local businesses.
