The Avondhu GAA Synergy Credit Union JAFC got underway last night Friday with Charleville going up against near neighbours Milford, who were taking part in their first ‘Junior A’ championship game in a number of years.

Ballyhea’s Senior hurlers were looking for silverware for the first time in a number of years when they took on Aghabullogue in the Co-Op Superstores Div 5 Hurling League Final in Glantane on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Ballyclough were crowned the Confined JBHC champions after a dramatic 3-9 to 1-14 win over Uibh Laoire in Ovens on Friday night.
David Ludgate struck the winning point deep into injury time to settle a thrilling contest that looked set for extra time. Ballyclough’s three goals ultimately proved decisive, despite a heroic 1-10 haul from Uibh Laoire’s Seamus MacUidhir.
